Private Eye Investigations is dedicated to the investigation and
enforcement of trademark and intellectual property rights.  The
Private Eye Investigations team works with numerous trademark
holders and law enforcement to investigate to stop the sale of
counterfeit goods and prosecute offenders. Private Eye
Investigations is a contract Field Investigator and Anti-Piracy Trainer
for the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).

The buyer may think that they are not hurting anyone because they
"wouldn't buy" the authentic item anyways so what did it hurt?

1. You are contributing to organized crime and terrorist
organizations.  Numerous raids have revealed direct links to
international terrorist organizations.

2. It dilutes the trademarks value.  If everyone has the trademarked
item then it is no longer a status symbol.  You may disagree with
status symbols, but they are part of our way of life.  

3. It is out and out stealing.  The trademark IS property and when it is
counterfeited it is stolen property.  When you buy counterfeit items
you are buying (trafficking) in stolen property.  Is it really worth it?  
Do the right thing.  Don't get involved in illegal activity.
